Now that the holiday season is over, I decided to try my hand at making some DIY based crafts of items that, now that I think of it, I spent entirely too much money on! One of those things is decorative, minimalists wreaths. These typically go for around $35, so I set out to see if I could mimic the wreaths I’ve seen around for as CHEAP as possible. Using nothing more than chicken wire, stainless steel rod and Dollar store decorations I’ve come up with something I’m rather happy with.

Step 1: was bending the stainless steel rod and shaping it around an old bucket I had lying around, at which point I clamped the free ends in place.

Step 2: I wrapped chicken wire tightly around the overlapping area of the free ends of the rods, looping the ends of the chicken wire into a knot.

Step 3: Once the chicken wire was firmly in place, I used black Duct Tape to wrap away the sharp corners and mask the silver color of the wire.

Step 4: it was now time to wrap around the dollar store flower decorations. I bought circular centerpiece decorations for this part and cut them in half, wrapping chicken wire once again around the tubing and the backing of the floral decoration. I repeated this step 2 more times, mixing colors to try and make things look a bit more lively. A note that I wrapped these decorations around the duct taped portion of the tubing to mask it further, making it a bit more aesthetically pleasing.

Step 5: sit back and enjoy your 7 dollar wreath! Frankly I am quite surprised at how nice it turned out, and this may be something I continue to tweak. Hope you all Enjoyed!
